Senior scientist at INRAE, I am the head of the GAFL unit and lead the Prunus group.

My objective is to give genetic leverage its proper place within an agroecological approach that mobilizes complementary technical levers in synergy. My activities aim to develop high-level research aligned with the needs of the peach and apricot sectors, as well as their rootstocks. In parallel, I have developed scientific activities focused on knowledge production, the study of genetic diversity, and the design of characterization systems, as well as activities aimed at increasing the impact of our research for the sector, and others intended to strengthen interdisciplinary connections.

We conduct research on resistance to pests and diseases (powdery mildew, green peach aphid, bacterial canker, etc.), and we are now focusing on the resilience of fruit trees to biotic stresses. We conserve, screen, and study extensive genetic resources of Prunus, including wild and related species, and we use modern tools and approaches to develop multi-trait breeding for low-input production systems, while designing prototypes to “protect” resistance and address multiple constraints.
