Current Position: Leader of the RDS group; Senior Scientist; WP4 co-leader of the European G2P-SOL project (2016-2021)

Presentation: Véronique Lefebvre worked at INRA since 1990. She conducts research to decipher the genetic, molecular and functional bases of natural disease resistance in Solanaceae; its researches are now moving toward understanding evolutionary strength of plant-pest interactions to impact the sustainable management of resistance to Oomycetes in vegetable Solanaceae. Her efforts contributed to the study of diversity among Capsicum, to the establishment of genetic reference maps, to the identification and characterization of disease resistance QTLs, and to QTL cloning. She also taught plant genetics and plant disease resistance from 1995 to 2013.

Research emphasis: plant biology; Mendelian, quantitative, evolutionary and population genetics; genetic diversity; genomics; plant-pathogen molecular interactions; sustainable management of crop health; effectoromic; adaptative mechanisms.

Model: Solanaceae (Capsicum spp., Solanum spp.) and Oomycetes (Phytophthora spp.)
